Thrifty {10}

It doesn't matter if it's a garage sale,
thrift store, estate sale or a flea market!!
This is my hobby!!
 I love 'Thrifting'!!

{10 Reasons why I like Thrifting}

{1}  The Thrill of the Hunt:
Thrifting can take you in a number of directions!!
You may have something in mind
but 9 times out of 10 you'll walk out
with something completely different!
For me, the best part about thrifting is waiting
for that special item to pop into my hands (or feet)...

{2} Serendipity:
When you find the right piece of art
or the perfect side table
you know it was just meant to be!!

Your heart skips a beat...
You feel like doing a cartwheel...
Everything gets a little blurry...
You know the feeling!!
That's Serendipity!!

{3} Visualizing the outcome:
As soon as you see it...
you can picture it on the wall
or in your dining room!

Strip it!
Sand it!
Paint it!

{4}  People watching:
Don't you just love watching what everyone else is buying?
I see their purchases and can't help but wonder
where they are going with their treasures??

I especially love the elderly!!
I love to hear them reminisce about how they remember when...!!

{5}  Wheeling and Dealing:
Wheeling and dealing can be tricky!
You want to get the best price for your purchase
but not at the risk of offending the seller!
I find asking the price of a piece
and then slashing 20%-40% works best!!
Asking $10 ;Offer between $8-$6
But it also depends on how badly you need the item!

{6}   Adding to a collection:
Don't you just love it when you find that
special something to add to your others just like them??

{7}   Flipping the found object:
After some sanding, some primer and a few coats of paint
I knew this baby would make the perfect dining room buffet!

Voila!!
{8}   My Family enjoys it too!!:
It's more fun when those you love join you in your passion!
I'm lucky that even my little guy likes treasure hunting!!
(I give them $5 to treasure hunt too
and they always find a little something
to keep them coming back for more!!)

{9}   No buyers remorse:
I usually get a great bargain
so I hardly ever feel guilty about spending too much money!
Especially at the garage sales!!
I save my husband lots of money at the garage sales!!
Hehehe!!

{10}  Finding a home:
Picking out the best spot in my home
for my treasure...
that is my favorite thing to do!

Under $10 Treasures!!

For under $10, I was able to find these sweet tchotchkes!
Being on a budget doesn't need to hold you back from finding items that make you happy!!

Each one of these little treasures put a smile on my face so I knew they had to come home with me!

I found this little dear at a garage sale for 25 cents.

These two grumpy salt and pepper shaker were $2.00 at the Goodwill.
{You can see a chip on the brow on one of them...}

Another 25 cent garage sale find!!

 Target dollar bin!

 Goodwill $2.00

I have plans for these little treasures!!

What is Serenflipity?

ser*en*dip*i*ty |ˌserənˈdipitē|
nounthe occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy or beneficial way a fortunate stroke of serendipity a series of small serendipities.
flip*  |flip|verb ( flipped flipping ) turn over or cause to turn o [ trans. buy and sell (a property) quickly and profitably using an evaluation of its worth :within one week of starting I flipped a property for a quick $3,000 profit.
By combining these two terms I have come up with the word Serenflipity.
Serenflipity means the occurrence and development of events by chance in a HAPPY or beneficial way in order to change and use in a better way!
Join me on my journey to find unique objects and transform them into fun and useful pieces!!

XOXO,Sandy
